What If Summit
What If Summit
Some extremely savvy and sage, prognosticators consider Hanoi an exceptional choice for President Trump and Kim Jong-un to have a Summit meeting. I thought it was possibly a dangerous, even poor choice when you consider how long the US was at war with both countries. The Korean people are not as begrudging.
Vietnam no doubt has numerous, maybe a multitude of people with animosity, or downright hatred towards the USA. Hopefully, the Vietnamese leaders hosting the Summit have softened and are more forgiving now that we are trusted trading partners.
It has crossed my mind, Trump and Kim Jong-un may be staying at the Hanoi Hilton. I personally hope they choose a different Hotel even if there is no Trump Towers in Hanoi yet.
A totally absurd hypothetical came to mind. What if they lock Trump in his room? Then it dawned on me, The U.S. Congress could be deadlocked for many months over a decision to send someone to get him or not. There are many scenarios, Congress might even trade someone else for him. It could drag on for years.
I’ll Fly Away
“I’ll Fly Away, Oh Glory, I’ll Fly Away”
It is a true blessing to be young and healthy, to live without any devastating disease such as cancer or juvenile diabetes and many other things that haunt all ages. We should protect that good health with everything we have available to us from lifestyle attitude to exercise. One way might be to visit a Care Center for the elderly on a regular basis. A mental picture is worth more than any amount of words.
We all take health for granted until something goes wrong with the body. We automatically say fine, when someone asks. “How are you doing, how are you feeling today? The answer is usually fine, or good when many times we are not. As we get older that happens more often, we have many more days that are not fine. The hurting times become stronger and last longer. We start to entertain thoughts like ‘enough already,’ going to a land where joy will never end, pain is no more.
Getting old should be a slow process, like walking into a cold lake, a little at a time, no shock involved. As we do get older, there is some shock as the body wears out, we start to think more about this in the frequent tired and weaker last days. There is comfort in these words, “Just a few more weary days and then,” “I Will Fly Away.”
On the Cusp of Final Care

On the Cusp of Final Care
My wife and I continue to wait for God. Today, or as I think more about it lately, that’s what we’ve been doing all of our lives to one degree or another. The final stages of waiting, we all know are coming, but they still come right up and kick us in the butt to get our undivided attention.
Toward the end of the waiting for God, the anticipation seems to increase while the expectations decrease. There is some anger, call it a mixed, menagerie of feelings, like a cage full of mismatched animals. That is under the best of circumstances. If we add some dementia to the duo’s daily routine all of the smooth edges get ruffled regularly, the tongue becomes tattered from biting a response in two, before it crosses the lips and ends up being interpreted as a verbal attack.
We are now on the cusp of a Assisted Living decision, another milestone nearer the end. Daily, different stages of decision making are starting to seem routine. Three years ago we sold our life collection of stuff. It was time to move into a two bedroom apartment. Now we must consider leaving that not so royal surroundings, for a single room at a assisted living center.

This is in England We are in the USA
All of our possessions will go into a few drawers and two closets. There is an upside to everything, no longer have to waste time deciding what to wear. Another plus is, some type of nursing care, ‘usually short of help tho’ around the clock. I am contemplating hiring a full-time nurse and spending our final days on a cruise ship. We could alternate between the ship and a fine hotel in Monte Carlo.
There seems to be something wrong with this picture. I better repaint some parts of it and redo it at a future date. Many of the people who decide the health care in this great nation, literally believe the Constitution is patterned after biblical scripture. I do recall reading somewhere in the Bible that we enter this world with nothing and we also will leave this world with nothing. That must mean the politicians are really looking out for her best interests. I guess we will be leaving in the condition that we are supposed to leave in.

Fearless
Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt.
If a person makes the decision that they want to truly follow Jesus. They have to first ask themselves, “Am I fearless?” Jesus makes no promises about sunshine and roses, happy trails, lots of buffet lunches, or luxury living quarters. He promises you very little outside of salvation.
The following verses describe three different men as they encounter Jesus, Jesus replies differently to each one of them. The answers seem rather vague. They also don’t fit the quiet Sunday School Jesus many of us grew up with. He was committed to his work here for sure!
As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” He said to another man, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.” Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:57-62 NIV
The first man got this reply, The “Son of Man has no place to lay his head” Jesus and his followers did a lot of camping out around an open fire. When they got into a village, people welcomed them to stay in their homes. They traveled light, not much baggage, spreading the gospel across the land. A place to lay their heads was of little concern to them, there goal was spreading the good news of salvation.
The second man got this reply, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”
Jesus reply to the second man indicates if he truly wanted to follow him. He would follow him at that time, he would not go to bury his father, the family would surely see that his father was buried. That man being human, after burying his father, would probably have a change of heart and decide that he wasn’t going to follow Jesus after all. Jesus would be a long way down the road, by that time.
The third man got this reply, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God. I seem to have trouble with this final verse. The words coming from Jesus seem to be awfully hard, not easy to understand. I almost have to believe Jesus is saying if you are committed to following me, spreading the good news of the gospel. You can’t look back at what you were doing in this world. He is talking about a full-time commitment, but that could be done. Millions of people have a job and a family so they can survive on this earth, but still follow Jesus. It might also mean not to look back at the lifestyle you have been living before. You have to completely change that lifestyle to live as near to what Jesus lived as possible. But this is something that no one can do as a sinner. That is why I say, if we think we are going to follow Jesus, we have to become completely fearless. He seems to be telling us, your choice, easy road or hard road.
I want to wish all of you bloggers a Happy and Blessed Easter Sunday. As Christians we believe Jesus rose again from the dead after three days and went to Heaven to sit on the right hand of God. HE IS RISEN INDEED!

You’ve been granted magical engineering skills, but you can only use them to build one gadget or machine. What do you build?
While I was using my magical engineering skills I suddenly realized that my one machine could be mass produced. Millions of these life saving machines can be shipped all over the globe. It is a real miracle, magical, marvel, machine!
This simple machine has pure drinking water coming out of one side, out of the the opposite side a steady stream of nourishing well balanced food product. There have been no allergies found in the water or in the food supply. These machines will run indefinitely. They can be powered by a hand crank generator, plugged into an a/c electrical source, they can run on AC or DC power or solar panels.
The magical engineering part is far beyond human comprehension because both the water and food products increase 100 fold as they continue through the machine. Creating an inexhaustible supply of food and water. This should help eliminate starvation and people dying from the lack of water.

Prayer Invitation
February 25, 2016
Harlan just returned to the care center in Arlington, SD today after another stay at the heart hospital in Sioux Falls. He is doing much better now.
Thank You
Harlan Olson Family
Our prayers heard. You bet. To family, friends, medical staff, several pastors and total strangers – Thank you from the Olson family. Prayers started Thursday (1/28) and Friday (1/29). At the Lake Norden Clinic for right decision by medical staff to send to Watertown and then the Sioux Falls hospital where I made my recovery.
Prayers spread like a ripple in the lake
within hours. Prayers heard in Eastern and
Western SD, in Michigan, and all the way to the East Coast within a day and even to
Florida. At the same time, prayers heard in the west from Oklahoma to the Pacific Northwest
within a short day and even to India. All of you
deserve out heartfelt thanks.
UPDATE Here is the latest update on Harlan, it is February 19, 2016, 8:30 PM at Arlington, South Dakota.Lynn, Babe and I went to see Harlan today in Sioux Falls. He seems to be doing very good, still having lots of pain though. Babe said something that got him laughing, thought he was going to pass out from pain. They are having trouble getting his heart speed regulated, so that is one project they are trying to get figured out. They plan to wean him off oxygen again, if he can get enough oxygen on his own. That is scary part, the family realizes the problems he had before. The plan is to move him back to Golden Living here in Arlington next Monday. He will be back here then unless something changes. Brian and Carol are both frazzled, Brian is coming home today and Julie’s going down for the rest of the week with Carol.
Thanks again, to everyone for all the prayers.

I do believe in the power of prayer. My brother had quadruple bypass surgery done two weeks ago and has been recovering at a care center here ever since he got out of surgery. He is been doing remarkably well, walking and exercising and doing everything that he was expect to do after surgery. Today he had symptoms similar to that of a heart attack He was taken by ambulance back to the hospital. Hopefully the doctors that did the surgery will quickly find the reason for his problems that started this afternoon.
Harlan’s condition has changed some this afternoon 02/16/16, 3:00 PM. I went up to visit him about an hour ago and they had just taken him by ambulance to Brookings. He was having some rapid heart rate and heart attack like symptoms. He was due to go to his heart doctor at Sioux Falls tomorrow for post surgery follow up. Brian and Carol were going to take him down for that. It’s probably a good thing he went by ambulance today but we have no idea what all is going on yet. I will try to keep you posted as I hear anything. Lori just called me from back in Michigan. Brian and Carol are at the Brookings hospital with Harlan right now. All prayers surely will be appreciated, thank you and I will keep you posted.
Hello again, 6:30 pm, Central Standard Time, South Dakota, USA. Lori just called back. Harlan is being moved back to Sioux Falls, SD to the Sanford Heart Hospital tonight. They don’t know a lot yet, outside of it was similar to heart attack symptoms. They should know more when he gets back down to the heart hospital, to the doctors who did the original surgery. Carol and Brian are going to stay down at Sioux Falls for now and see what the doctors have to say. I will continue to keep you all updated, thanks again, keep the prayer chain active. Praise the Lord for all the prayer warriors around the globe.
I would like to appeal to all of my blogging friends around the world to remember my brother Harlan Olson in their prayers and that he will have a complete recovery. Thank you all. God bless you.

Middle East Peace
DAILY PROMPT
A Bird, a Plane, You!
You get to choose one superpower. Pick one of these, and explain your choice:
the ability to speak and understand any language
the ability to travel through time
I would choose “the ability to make any two people agree with each other”
For the chance of peace in the Middle East.
Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu is the current Prime Minister of Israel. He also currently serves as a member of the Knesset and Chairman of the Likud party.
Mahmoud Abbas (also known as Abu Mazen) is the leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)
Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu and Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, gentleman my name is Leland Olson. I am little gray-haired man who resides in the United States of America. I have been given the superpower to make you two come to an agreement. This is without a doubt the luckiest day of your lives. You will be part of history making. Your part of the world will be free for all of the people who reside there, for the first time in generations.
Powers given to me on this day make you two agree, so I have to be careful on how I move with this meeting. I do understand that you would both immediately agree to kill one another. That is not what we are here for. We are here so you two will learn to start loving each other. You both will sign peace agreements. The PLO well then recognize all of Israel’s rights to live as an independent free state, a government onto themselves. Israel will sign agreements dividing the land between the people. Palestine and the People of Israel will have no borders or barriers. From this day forward they all will learn to work together and to be a shining example of what peace can be. All this takes is for you two people to start signing these papers and you will become famous peacemakers. You two will no doubt share the Nobel Peace Prize the next time it is awarded.
When you two leave here today go back to your people, welcome them all, Israeli and Palestinian with open arms, celebrate freedom, with your neighbors, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt.
