The Faint Novel Goal
The meaning of faint: To lose consciousness for a short time because of a temporarily insufficient supply of oxygen to the brain.
I believe I have only felt faint one other time in my life and that was marching with a full pack during boot camp. It was a 20-mile forced march shortly after receiving a smallpox vaccination. The trail we were marching on starting to resemble a steep, downward spiraling, staircase and I ended up face down in the mud with my backpack on top of me.
I experienced a similar feeling a little over a week ago when I signed up for NANOWRIMO which stands for National Novel Writing Month which is November. I didn’t really feel faint until I started contemplating writing 50000 words in 30 days. The barely perceptible smell was from fear of failure which soon became overpowering, fainted again.
Another meaning of faint: (of a sight, smell, or sound) barely perceptible.
