How is the year shaping up for you so far? Have your predictions come true, or did you have to face a curve ball or two?

Hindsight has always been 20/20 with me but lately through these cataract covered eyes I believe I missed a couple curve balls on Blogging 101: The Commons. My year at Word Press has actually finished up better than I had hoped for. I’ve seen my blog grow a lot more rapidly than I was first expecting. I try to answer as many comments as I possibly can, I feel if people are good enough to comment on a post of mine I should take the time and make a reply to them.

One thing I was considering a couple months ago was upgrading my current web address, and a custom domain name. It has been suggested to me that tweaking that could also increase the traffic to my blog. Another thing that hindsight just reminded me of. Flash Fiction is something I plan to be more involved in this year.

WordPress gives us many tools to operate with. I hope I can learn to take advantage of all of them and be able to grow my blog and my writing abilities into something that will give me some real purpose in my golden years. I have found blogging to be good medicine for me. My body has slowed down but my mind has been doing lots of overtime. We all need purpose, a level of wanting to continue, looking forward to each new day.

We are very fortunate to be able to share life experiences with people all of the world. Many with similar events in their lives. We can compare notes, possibly share ways of helping one another as far as being diagnosed for rare disorders. Many are living with debilitating body functions. I will be very happy to share what I know about spinal cord injury with anyone who wants to communicate about it. I have lived over 53 years, after having a severe spinal cord injury. I have seen and experienced almost every aspect of spinal cord damage and recovery and the ability to live with that damage. Your body automatically makes adjustments for one area that is failing, the brain has a way of taking over, sending signals to different areas to keep you functioning in the best possible way.

If I can continue to blog for another year, I now expect to see growth and expansion, to many more people around the globe. If we get to the point we can blog with those in another universe I would imagine WordPress will be there leading the charge. Blogging with those from other worlds. How is that for proactive thinking about blogging at its best in the future?
